Music direction

Could you enjoy a film without its soundtrack?
Would you enjoy a ballet without the notes to which it is danced?
And again, could you really enjoy yourself in a club laughing and drinking with friends without the right background music?

Music, when it is not the protagonist, is an essential ally and should therefore be chosen with care.

Even for music you can define a where-as-when and have it live or recorded, although the effect between the two is decidedly different: in the first case we will have a real involvement and ‘narrating voice’, while in the second something more neutral and flat without the possibility of fully managing emotions and unexpected events. So don’t be surprised if the celebrant always recommends live music!

Where

The musical location of artists and DJs should be decided according to the space, dedicating it a discreet corner so that it is in harmony with the setting of the ceremony and not intrusive or too protagonist.

If during the aperitif or after the ceremony more visual space could be dedicated to it, during the celebration only the sound should be co-protagonist.

If in the case of the DJ set we would like to limit its presence, placing it to the side and behind the celebrant, in the case of live music with classical instruments such as the harp, violin, cello, piano, etc., even the eye will want its part, so a balanced position between the ceremonial table, the bride and groom and the guests will have to be considered.

How

Live music as we said is more present and alive than the DJ set, but we make important distinctions.

Depending on the moment, the music takes a different form and can be interpreted in various ways:

  • Harp

The harp is delicate, romantic and classy, perfect for the whole ceremony.

  • Piano and keyboard

The piano and keyboard, more classical the former and with more contemporary sound possibilities the latter, are complete and unique: they do not need other instruments to create complex melodies and go well with the sung voice.

  • Violin and cello

Violin and cello, like most strings are very dynamic and lyrical, they are soloists and therefore combine poorly with the singing voice; they can create pleasant ensembles in quartets with other strings.

  • Sax and other woodwinds

Sax and other woodwinds, great protagonists with great presence that, unlike strings, are better accompanied by the sung voice.

  • Voice and instrument

Voice and instrument a ductile and complete duo, can adapt well to both the more delicate and romantic moments of the ceremony and the more sparkling and festive ones afterwards. Suggested for those who want it all but have a limited budget.

    SHARE

  • Voice and band

Voice and band certainly the most effective choice for an unparalleled pre and post ceremony of dancing and fun. For those with a more generous budget who deeply enjoy live music.

  • Dj set

Dj set is the perfect icing on the cake at the end of a special day: when the ice is broken and promises have been made, you let yourself go and party hard! A great addition to one of the previous proposals.

When

Music has its precise role at the exact moment and should therefore be chosen and arranged carefully in the various steps of the day.

For the pre-ceremony, that is, during the white table or welcome-drink, it is better to prefer dynamic instruments, such as the violin or harp, but not too intrusive; we are at the beginning of the day and the choice will set the tone for the whole event.

During the ceremony, music, perhaps from a piano, will be in the background in the discursive parts: introduction, readings and speeches; narrating in the moments of strong emotion such as the bride and groom’s entrances, the exchange of promises and the conclusion of the ceremony. His presence is essential to involve the guests and envelop the bride and groom, especially in the event of minor unforeseen events.

The post-ceremony can be decisively enhanced by increasing the number of instruments involved: the band is a safe choice and the presence of a singer livens up the atmosphere by leading the guests into the party; the intervention afterwards of a DJ set perhaps during the open bar gives the event the final boost.
