Ring rite
RING WARMING, WARMING WITH LOVE
It is a ritual that comes to us from Anglo-Saxon countries, in fact the original name is Ring Warming.
Its meaning is precisely this: to warm the rings that the bride and groom will wear, with the love of all the guests present.
In fact, this rite ensures that when the bride and groom put on their rings, they are filled with the love, prayers and best wishes of all the guests that the bride and groom wanted for their wedding.
This is why we speak of warmth, it is the symbolic warmth of love….
HOW THE RING-WARMING RITUAL IS PERFORMED
The operation is very simple.
The rings are placed in a small bag or sachet and passed from hand to hand, from one guest to another, until they reach the bride and groom.
In this way, each person can shake them in their hands, transmitting their warmth.
The guests with the rings in their hands will express a silent thought for the bride and groom and then pass them on to their neighbour who in turn will do likewise, and so on. Starting from the bottom and ending with the bride and groom. Or they can be passed only to the witnesses and/or close relatives without passing them to all the guests.
